How much does a mum cost?
The cost of a mum or garter will depend on a few factors. The size of the flower, the number of flowers, additional braids, upgrade braids, all white senior colors, etc. We do have our starting prices listed on the Pricing & Ordering page.
Can you add more than their name? Can you also add their activities and the school name?
YES! However, keep in mind, there is only so much "real estate" on a mum and as much as we would like to, we cannot put an entire life story. We use what are called custom cutouts so we can put together just about anything. We just do not want to overload the mum with so much you cannot see everything all the work we put in for you.
Can I add a lot of braids? As many as I want? Can I pick the braids?
We will gladly take your input on the braids you like, however, due to that "real estate" issue and artistry, we prefer to select ourselves. The skirt of the mum only has so much room and we do not want to overload it so much you cannot see anything else. Each mum or garter comes with a certain number of braids and there might be room for one or two more. If we can add it, we will and discuss the cost for the extra braid upfront.
DELIVERY:
We can provide delivery of mums with additional costs as listed below.
Do we have to pay the whole order up front?
No, not necessarily. The deposit amount will depend on what type of mum or garter you are planning to order. In addition, if we are looking at a rush or late request. We would collect that deposit in addition to a Rush Request Fee or Late Fee. You can find more information on Nonrefundable Deposits, Rush Request Fee or Late Fee under our Pricing & Ordering page or our Terms/Conditions & Privacy Policy page.
How much is a RUSH REQUEST FEE or LATE FEE?
We look at each one on a case by case basis. We will look at how many mums we have in the pipeline and the date you need it by in order to determine the amount of the fees. We do not accept any orders within 24 hours of pick up days.
MEETING OR CONSULTATIONS:
If you require a meeting or consultation prior to ordering, please ensure it is more than two weeks from the Homecoming Date. We are limited on face-to-face meetings within our mum space.
Can you just make a mum based on a picture I send over to you?
No, we cannot for a few reasons. One, we are part of Mums, Inc which is a group of fellow talented mum makers or "mumtrepreneurs". Out of respect for their (or any mum makers) design, we will not copy any work. Two, because creating something that is unique and a source of pride and joy, we will not copy someone else's work. Lastly, because we are creating a custom design for you, we want something that will reflect the recipient rather than copy a mum made for someone else - even if it is our own design.
MULTI MUM ORDERS:
Any of our mums that are double, triple or quadruple, will require at least a three week time frame when ordered. We cannot accommodate anything shorter than a three week turnaround time for any multi mum order.
What if I want more braids than offered on each mum or garter? What if I want specific ones? What about an upgrade braid?
We can definitely help you with that! If you wish to have more braids added to your order, just let us know how many. If you wish to pick which ones are added, just let us know which ones (they are all pictured on our Facebook and Instagram pages). If you want an upgrade braid, at an additional cost, we can get that set up for you. For additional charges on these scenarios, we will let you know ahead of time what they are. Keep in mind, we ask that you give us a good amount of time to fulfill requests like these for you by letting us know ASAP. Additionally, please remember that the "real estate" on the mum might limit how many additional braids can be added.
Can I get a shorter mum or garter than what you have described?
Yes, you can! In our order form, we have a selection for a shorter length on our mums than the 36" we normally use. We want to ensure your recipient is happy with what they receive! We do have an estimated length example in our Pricing & Ordering page.
What happens if I gave the wrong information for the mum or garter?
We understand. Volleyball vs basketball, baseball vs football, dance team vs cheerleader, student council vs journalism, band vs orchestra, Natalie vs Nataly vs Natalee, royal blue and gold vs navy and gold, it's a lot especially when you are ordering for your student to give to someone else. We can help with most of it and it helps to let us know ASAP. For easy things like changing the extracurricular activities, correctly spelling a name or updating the class to the right one, we can do those easily and free of charge provided you give us enough notice. It's our name on this mum or garter and the last thing we want is for an embarrassing situation to happen for anyone.
Our limitation comes in with changing colors (including moving to an all white senior mum or garter), moving from a single mum to a triple mum, adding in their middle name, date's name, etc or additional activities at the last minute. Depending on what the changes are and how much notice you provide, we are limited into what can be done and in what amount of time we are notified. We do classify these as intricate changes and depending on what is needed will determine what additional fees might be incurred.
ORDERS:
Spirited Mums by a Spirited Mom creates mums and/or garters that are unique and custom to your specifications. We are trying to meet your needs as much as possible in order to complete your mum or garter. In order to ensure a quality product, mum or garter orders must be made at least two weeks (14 days) prior to your Homecoming Date. Orders are processed as they are received for each school and a cutoff date can be moved if quantities increase for any particular Homecoming Date.
We recommend ordering your custom homecoming mum and/or garter as soon as possible.

We do not and will not send pictures during the progress of your mum. Due to the amount of mums we have in progress, at any given time, this slows us down to take a quality picture and send each and every one out. We rely on our photo posted via our website, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok to show the quality of our work and hope you will trust us with your homecoming memory!

General location for pick up.
Pick up area is located within Alamo Ranch. It is outside 1604 and off Culebra Road. Once we are within a week of pick up, we will send out the specific address for pick up.
